Medium-density fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product with a smooth sanded finish free of natural defects. It has many uses within the construction and furniture making industries. Moisture resistant so particularly suitable for use in areas of high humidity such as kitchens and bathrooms.

MDF is made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres, often in a defibrillator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. MDF is generally denser than plywood.
